Our “Pay with a Poem” project with Newton Espresso Café wrapped up yesterday, leaving the walls of the Café covered in poetry and our community a little bit more connected and creative than it was before.
The project was inspired by “National Poetry Month,” which is April of each year, and was initiated by the Cedar Bark Poets group.
You can see pictures of a selection of poems below, and see more about the project in this great article by the Now Newspaper.
All of the poems will be transcribed and published in the next edition of the Cedar Bark ‘Zine under the theme of ““Coffee & Cafés.” If you have any last minute submissions please send them in as soon as possible: email@example.com.
A huge thank you to all the organizers and to everyone that contributed their creativity to this community project!
Most of all, a huge thanks to Youssif, the owner and manager of Newton Espresso Café for his support of this project! We encourage you to drop by and thank Youssif in person, but if you can’t make it in person, liking and sharing the Newton Espresso Café Facebook page is another great way to show your support for fun community partnerships.
Let’s do this again next year!
Having fun, strengthening our neighbourhood, and hoping you'll join us!
