NaPoWriMo – Day 7

Each day for the month of April, the Cedar Bark Poets are writing a poem a day in celebration of NaPoWriMo, National Poetry Writing month. Poems are posted here daily. Let Katheren know if you would like to participate!

“Our (optional) prompt for Day Seven comes to us from Gloria Gonsalves, who challenges us all to write a tritina. The tritina is a shorter cousin to the sestina, involving three, three-line stanzas, and a final concluding line. Three “end words” are used to conclude the lines of each stanza, in a set pattern of ABC, CAB, BCA, and all three end words appear together in the final line.”

Today’s Counseling Ideas

Eternalizing unwarranted shame
Challenge to be open, loving, gentle
Striving toward compassion with all humans

Unwavering opinions produce inflexible humans
Secrets in darkness result in shame
Courage and work I embrace being gentle

Self talk to mirror -remember gifts of gentle
Loving and caring for me before other humans
With honesty send out all blame, shame

Personal growth comes with being gentle,
humans without shame.

Tritina, a Little Blue Sailboat

When I start to get a little down and blue I go down to the dock and watch the ocean break from my little blue sailboat and can feel my mood raise just a little

With each wave from the horizon, as the white foam breaks, it raises more my mood just that little between the sky and water, all dazzling shades of blue, my blues fade into the surrounding hues of blue rocking subtly in a deck chair on the poop deck on my little blue Sailboat

I dream of being out in the middle of the ocean, no land in sight just me and my sailboat no hold on me has the world at large, not even a little in the absence of everything, its all a bit grander, even the ocean I imagine being a deeper blue

But I don’t know how to sail my little boat of blue, so I stay at the dock, with my ocean view,… and sit on my poop deck, as its all I know of my sailboat to do, so little cute and blue, watching the sea break anew.

Community Cafe

Door chimes upon entering the cafe
The sweet aroma fills my heart with love Time to order a delicious treat and tea

Wrapping my hands around the cup of tea
In a daydream trance, pondering about the cafe Which reminds my heart to remember how to smile and love

The atmosphere is full of beautiful love As many sit to sip their coffee or tea A small but fantastic community within the cafe

The community cafe brightens your heart with love with a cup of coffee or tea.

Meet Me At The Car Wash

When I think of a wash
I think of how smooth it will be with wax Now, for it to last, I must add a sealant

We asked you why the sealant
If we degrease the car, we want to cure with wax No need to wax over dirt or there’d be no reason for the wash

Do it right, degrease, then cure with wax Is it fun for you to give your car a wash Not only does your car shine, but there is no grime with sealant

I get the most out of my wash, when I hand wax, then cure the paint shine with sealant.
