NaPoWriMo, or National Poetry Writing Month, is an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day for the month of April. The Initiative coincides with Canada’s National Poetry Month.
The Cedar Bark Poets have been participating in NaPoWriMo for the past two years, and they’re getting ready to take up the challenge again!
Each day, participating poets are given an optional “prompt” that guides them to write that day’s poem on a particular theme or using a particular style. Some of them can be very challenging.
For the month of April, the Friends of the Grove website will be reformatted to featured the daily submissions right here on the home page. Check in often to see what our poets have been up to!
This year, we have at least four poets participating. If you would like to participate, let Katheren know at firstname.lastname@example.org and she’ll get you set up!
Don’t forget that you can also bring your poem down to the Newton Espresso Café and use it to buy a coffee, tea or pop during “pay with a poem” for the month of April, 2016.
